Grand Hustle co-founder and hip hop icon T.I. states, “I’m happy to be working with America ’s #1 independent, E1 Music.”

Ten Toes Down features Snoop Dogg, T.I., Bun B, David Banner, Young Dro with production by Frank Nitti of Nitti Beats, Drumma Boy, David Banner, Nard & B, and Mo B. Dick.

A video for the title track was just shot by director Gabriel Hart, and will be serviced shortly.  Some behind the scenes footage can be seen here:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iVGD8Hq1t68.

Ever since the duo’s 1993 successful debut, “Comin’ Hard,” 8Ball & MJG have been at the forefront of the southern rap movement.  They went on to release 11 albums, several of which went gold.  Their 2004 Livin Legends album peaked at #3 on the Billboard Top 200.  The duo later teamed up with Three 6 Mafia for the latter’s hit single “Stay Fly,” which brought both Memphis groups much success.

Grand Hustle’s Jason Geter comments, “T.I and I were thrilled to have the opportunity to work with Ball & Gee from the very beginning. We've both been fans, and this new album is classic Ball & Gee material & we're excited for the world to hear it.”

8Ball adds, “Ten Toes Down, in my opinion, is one of the best 8Ball & MJG albums ever. It's a heart-felt, soul-filled, portion of the lives of 8Ball & MJG. 8Ball & MJG sounds and feels like 8Ball & MJG on this album 4sho!"

Dewayne "Duprano" Martin, CEO, Push Management says, “The 8Ball & MJG / PUSH Management / E1 Music /Grand Hustle partnership is all about bringing the Urban Legends' music back to the streets.”

About Laughalujah™

On Friday, May 30, 2003 a “Different” concept was introduced in Lansing, Michigan called the Laughalujah Comedy Jam; a concert featuring some of America’s Best Christian standup comedians.  The show was such a phenomenal hit that it was repeated, by popular demand, 6 months later.  Laughalujah Comedy Jam 2 drew twice as many people as the first event and it was even more entertaining.   This was when Duvale knew he had to promote Laughalujah on a National tour.

The Laughalujah Mega Comedy Jam was birthed in early 2004 and featured 4 “unknown” gospel comedians; Marcus Wiley, Rod Z, Vyck Cooley and Darian Perkins.  In spite of its “anonymity” factor, the tour was still witnessed by thousands and booked in places that included St. Croix, Philadelphia, Peoria, Memphis, Raleigh, Orlando, Jacksonville, Kansas City, Cleveland, Lansing, Jackson and Flint.  It ended in mid 2005 but booking requests continued so Duvale produced another variation of the tour called the Laughalujah They So Crazy Comedy Experience. The Experience has been booked in Columbus, Phoenix, Raleigh, Peoria and Bermuda and is a grand success.

In May 2006, another pioneering comedy tour, with a twist, was introduced by DME called Laughalujah Gurlfrienz that features 3 very talented and hilarious female comediennes; Meshelle, Debra Terry and Mrs V “the queen of lafta”.  It has the potential to be the most entertaining and funniest event ever produced by DME.

The Laughalujah brand has become so popular and the demand for the shows is so great that DME has taken another initiative to bring its family of comedians to the forefront of gospel entertainment by offering their comedy thru Laughalujah Television & Film LLC on platforms that include Theater, Home Video, Cable, Broadcast and Internet TV, Broadband, Mobile, Satellite, Radio and other New Media Configurations.

Willie has co-written and written songs with and for Avant, Joe, Jagged Edge, Ginuwine and of course his group DAY26.  As Willie continues to establish himself as a noted songwriter, there is no doubt that the sky is the limit for him as he is preparing to go back in the studio with DAY26 in February to start recording the group's upcoming third album under Atlantic Records "I am very proud of my little brother.  He’s extremely talented and I feel like the world needs to hear his writing," mentions Brian Angel, member of DAY26.

Yung Joc and Diddy)” – entered Billboard’s “Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums” chart at #1, while also landing at #2 on the comprehensive Billboard 200 with sales in excess of 113,000. The group went on to win the 2009 BET Award for Best Group and received a nomination for the 2009 American Music Awards in the category of Favorite R&B/Soul Group Band or Duo.  DAY26 just received a nomination for the 41st NAACP Image Awards in the category of Outstanding Group, Duo or Collaboration.

In 2008, DAY26 entered the record books as the biggest-selling debut album from a male R&B group in the 17-year history of Soundscan.  The album – which included the hit singles, “Got Me Going” and “Since You Been Gone” – exploded into the #1 spot on the Soundscan/Billboard 200 in its first week of release, while also topping Billboard’s “Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums” chart

Hoopla Media Group, LLC is a fast-rising, moving and shaking record label and a multi-media marketing and advertising firm, placing music at the highest level through any and all major retailers worldwide with their business partners LRT Music Group/Universal Music Group.

In the last few months, Hoopla Media Group has made their presence in the music industry noted by signing two west coast legends, Knoc-turn’al and Tha Chill from Compton’s Most Wanted. Knoc-turn’al is known for his work with Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Kanye West, Scott Storch, Timbaland, Missy Elliot, and others.  Besides being known as a member of the famed group Compton’s Most Wanted, Tha Chill has also produced songs for Snoop Dogg, MC Eiht, 213, MC Ren and a gang of other multi-genre artists. Both of these legendary artists have highly-anticipated albums dropping in the first quarter of 2010.

Hoopla Media Group has recently distributed a massive release with Noah Jones’ debut album, The Incinerator.   This star-studded album features lyrical heavyweights such as Crooked I, Nipsey Hussle, Glasses Malone, Jay Rock and more, including dazzling production from both Focus (Dr Dre, The Game, Beyonce) and Jimi Kendrix (Jay-Z, Juelz Santana, Ashanti).  You can currently pick up this album online, available all across the world, or handpick the singles that feature your favorite new west coast artists from Noah Jones’ the critically-acclaimed album, The Incinerator.

Hoopla Media Group has singles out on the global market right now from Wingo from Jagged Edge called “Bust it Down” which features Gucci Mane, “My Swag” from Texas recording artist, Bossaliny (Slim Thug), “We Hustle, We Grind” from Tan-D (Nappy Roots) and “They Don’t Know What I’ve Been Through” from rising starlet, Sabrina, who has just began her internet campaign, taking over one website at a time.

First quarter single releases in 2010 from the label feature buzz-heavy records such as “Have Dat Money Rite” from Tha Chill featuring MC Ren from N.W.A, “Million Bucks” from B-Ezzy featuring Mistah Fab, “Want To Be A Rapper “ from Tone, Feelin It from Tequila, “Real Hustlaz” which features Kokane, Goldie Loc and Doc.Ce, “Lets Go” from Bless and Wickam, “Poisonous” and “Call Me” from Anne Champion a artist from Johannesburg, South Africa, “Mr. Know-It-All” by Epademik featuring Ca$his (from Eminem’s Shady Records), “Flight of the Intrepid” by DJ Atlas Jenkins, “Barbee Doll” by Frost Byte, “Shotguns and Canned Goods” by Michael Barber featuring B. More news from Hoopla Media Group in 2010 includes projects from super-producer, Mike Mosley, who boasts an astounding 30 Million and counting record sales from his work with 2Pac, E-40, Mac Dre, Master P  and many more.  Also be on the lookout for other artists on the roster such as Big Hollis (Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Guerilla Black, The Game, Mac Dre, etc); as well as some releases with Nappy Roots’ member, Big V AKA Vito Banga – the Grammy Nominated, Multi-Platinum voice from Kentucky -- and also the legendary, Sir Jinx (Ice Cube, Kool G Rap, Xzibit), who has been in the studio with Dr. Dre working on the most anticipated album in the history of hip-hop, Detox.

With a new video distribution deal in place through LRT, all major movie and video chains, including Redbox and Video-on-Demand, will host Hoopla’s DVD releases from James Wade/Up Da Game Entertainment (Outlawz, Slick Rick, Russell Simmons, Outkast, Dungeon Family) as well as video releases from Maynea Records based of Sweden.  Hoopla Media Group also has upcoming movies from Brian Hooks, who was in the Major Motion Picture, Fools Gold, starring Matthew McConaughey and Kate Hudson, High School High, Bulworth, Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me, 3 Strikes and Soul Plane starring Snoop Dogg, along with many, many more.

Hoopla Media Group is also currently in negotiations to bring in more projects from both legendary and on-the-rise artists alike.

With such a quick-moving and high-rising talent squad, Hoopla Media Group has also opened up a Canadian division for the talent that is quickly emerging north of the border. Canadian Hip-Hop in 2009 received a boost of confidence with the emergence of Grammy-nominated rapper, Drake, whose introduction focused much of the music industry’s attention to Canada and ultimately lead to the grand-opening of Hoopla Canada. The first presentation from Hoopla Canada will be Mazur and his as-of-yet untitled single featuring west coast superstar, Knoc-turn’al in 2010.

Hoopla Media Group has also partnered up with Urbanista Graphix, a high-profile graphic arts company. The Urbanista Graphix / Hoopla Media Group relationship was just mentioned in an SOHH article featuring Big Pun: The Lost Files. Besides SOHH, Urbanista Graphix artwork has also been featured on such websites as HipHopDX, 2DopeBoyz, Thisis50, BallerStatus, Dubcnn and many others. Urbanista Graphix has also worked with super-producer Focus during his time at Aftermath Entertainment, Busta Rhymes, Sir Jinx, Nappy Roots, Teddy Riley, Sony Legacy, Vivendi / Universal, Big Pun, The Vladar Company, Nikki Reed from Twilight, DJ Qualls from the film “Last Day of Summer”, DJ Rip (Vice President of The Core DJs), as well as numerous placements within the worldwide retail market.

Teamed with entertainment industry veterans who have a history of product placement in the highest level of outlets and outreach, Hoopla Media Group ended 2009 with a bang, and is set to become one of the most prolific and recognizable brands in the music industry in 2010 and years to come.  Welcome to the future!

1/15/10: Cypress Hill Has New Album, New Label on Deck

This morning it was announced that pioneering Latino Hip Hop group Cypress Hill will release their April 6th album RISE UP through Priority/EMI Records. This is the group's first album in six years, and the first Priority signing since Snoop Dogg assumed role of Creative Chairman of the historic Rap label presently celebrating its 25th anniversary.

"My role as Creative Chairman of Priority Records has put me in the driver's seat to help revive the most important west coast hip hop label," said Snoop in a statement this morning. "As such, I'm excited to announce my first signing as Cypress Hill. Cypress Hill is undeniably one of the most important Hip Hop groups in music history, not only are they incredibly talented and the first Latino Hip Hop group to go platinum, they are also from the west coast-so this signing is the perfect marriage."

RISE UP was recorded over the course of the past three years at B-Real's studio, The Temple, in Los Angeles. "Making this record was so much fun," said Sen Dog. "It felt like the first record we ever made together. We recorded whatever we wanted to with no musical boundaries. And having the chance to work with one of my favorite guitar players of all time, Tom Morello, was amazing. I always knew we would make some kickass music together." Morello is best known for his work with Rage Against The Machine, though he's played with Rap acts dating back to KRS-One and Run-DMC.

"We took a little break after the last record to work on individual projects," added B-Real. "Both Sen Dog and I wanted to put out our own solo records, which we had been working on for some time. And though we were doing other things, we each kept ideas in mind for Cypress Hill and would go into the studio periodically to record. It was great to work at our own pace and without a deadline hanging over us. We'd get together at my studio and record whenever we felt that burst of creativity. It was an amazing way to work and resulted in what I think is our best record yet."

1/11/10: The Future: Michael Barber By Justin Melo

Michael Barber hooks up with B. Stille of the Nappy Roots for his upcoming single.

It’s very hard to go against up and coming MC Michael Barber. While 2009 was a good year for Barber, 2010 is already looking much better. Set for a European and North American tour in the early stages of the New Year, Michael Barber has never been known to hold his tongue. With the release of his new mixtape “The Truth”, Barber is set to raise eyebrows and jaw drops with the many shots taken at white MC, Asher Roth.

With “The Truth” mixtape being released on over 200 websites and being hosted by award winning DJ Fade from Nashville, these Asher Roth disses are unlikely to go unrecognized by the SRC Records recording artist. Specifically, “The Truth” title song is heavily aimed at Roth, the second of a two-punch combination that began with “Asher’s Nightmare.”

When asked about Asher Roth a few months back, Barber had the following to say: “Why did I diss him? Fuck that dude. He’ll never come to Orlando and do a show. Fuck that dude. I’m not even gonna’ talk about how wack that dude is. The major labels are falling apart 100%. Music is falling apart overall. You have this dude rapping on a Weezer track about “I love college” did he even go to college? Who the fuck is this dude? He’s wack. I heard the song and was like fuck this dude. I dissed him and then 5,000 other white dudes dissed him. I can go on for a days about that dude, but I don’t want to.”

But the disses don’t stop there, “The Truth” mixtape is rumored to also feature jabs taken at Charles Hamilton and even The Black Eyed Peas. The Charles Hamilton shots should be taken as no surprise, as Barber was once quoted as saying (in regards to Charles Hamilton): “Charles Hamilton may not be gay, but he’d suck a dick. That’s for sure. I’ve watched his show. People show me shit because I’m a rapper anyway. That dude…Charles Hamilton would suck a dick; he’s a fucking fag.”

With the recent success of “The Truth”  mixtape being living proof of Barber’s current buzz and success, Barber is also rumored to be dating Style Network TV host Danielle Fishel, best known for her role as Topanga Lawrence on the 1990s hit TV show, Boy Meets World. The female star’s Twitter page has seemed to confirmher romance with Michael Barber, as the two met at a Cancer charity event in June and have been a happy couple ever since.

Michael Barber is currently working on a Pink Floyd inspired movie titled “Shotguns & Canned Goods”, which was seen by an independent film company to purchase the screenplay. HMG through Universal Distribution will also be releasing the first single of the same title featuring B. Stille of Nappy Roots. It comes as no surprise that Michael Barber has earned the nickname “Determined.”
