Tell me a little bit about how you got your start in hip hop.

I started doing music in 2004 helping one of my friends promote themselves. I knew then this was something I wanted to do. My homeboy Rich Mac suggested that I give it a shot and it's been on since then.

How did you come up with the name JoeKel for yourself?

The name JoeKel came from my grandfather whose name was Joe Kelly, I just broke it down to represent him through me ya dig?

No doubt, that is a nice tribute to him. Tell me a little bit about your current single, Paparazzi, which we currently have up on the site.

JoeKel featuring Eliz Camacho- Paparazzi

Paparazzi is that cross-over banger. It's got the Pop element with a street base. It's almost like the best of both worlds. This song features Eliz Camacho who is also a stand out artist (be on the look-out for her).

What next for you as far as solo projects? Any mixtapes in the works?

Right now I'm working on my solo album (unreleased title). In the mean time I've been working on four mixtape projects at the same time.

Wow that is alot of mixtapes! (laughs)

Yeah I'ma work-a-holic! I just did a song with Cash Chris and Gun Play from Maybach Music produced by Phil 4 Real (Orlando's Producer Of The Year).

Congrats on that. What are your thoughts right now on the state of hip hop?

I think the state of Hip Hop is getting better. I believe it was just going through it's transition period. I believe that the industry was so focused on making the quick dollar and put'n out one hit wonders it left room for fans of hip hop music to appreciate any classic material.

Do you have any upcoming shows or tour dates?

Right now I'm scheduled to perform at Dj Ceo birthday bash in Orlando December 27th, Lebron James And 1 show in Fayetteville, North Carolina in January.
