Illuminati 2G chopped it up with Mac-D for a exclusive interview. Many of you will remember Mac from the Ballaholic song that appeared on the Sanctuary Mixtape a few months back with A-Dot. We talk about the rumors of a A-Dot/Mac-D collabo album, his upcoming album and mixtape, and much more so check it out. 

How did you get your start in the game and who are some of your musical influences?

My cousin started me out at a young age. He always had me in a big crowd rapping in the streets of Jeanerette, La, since the age of 7. My influences range from a wide veriaty of artists. Pretty much if the artist is hottt, they prolly had some sort of influence on me.

I had the Ballaholic single on my last mixtape for the site (Sanctuary Vol 2 up now for free download on the site) with you a A-Dot and when your verse kicked it on that, it was off the hook because you have such a unique style and cadence to your rhymes. How would you best describe your style on the mic, if you can describe it.

Thanks...I would describe my style as heart driven, because that's exactly where it comes from. I couldn't have it any other way.


How is the new album coming along and are you planning any mixtapes before it drops?

The album is coming along good, I'm taking my time cuz it has to be perfect. This album can make me or break me, and i damn sure ain't gonn let it destroy me...I put that on my hood. Yes, I do have a mixtape that will be droppin' soon."The Shake Down Vol.1", so look out for that.

Good news to hear. Definitely looking forward to the mixtape. What can people expect from the album once it drops?

The people can expect straight heat on this album!!!!!!!!! Thats all that needs to be said.


Any guests or producers you still trying to get on your album that you would like to work with?

There's a couple people...Cutta C, Baby C, Lil Boosie.


What are your thoughts on the music scene out in Fort Worth, TX. It seems like it is right on the verge of blowing up nationally.

From wut I see in the Funk....It's goin' down....They doin' the damn thang!!!!!!!!! Even though I'm from Louisiana, it ain't hard to see that them boys in the Funk be puttin' it down!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!They'll be world wide in no time at all!!!!!!!


Who are some of the artists locally and from other places you think people should be checking for or you dig they music?

Hard Time, Truth, Mayne, A-Dot, Jay Kidd.....that's right off the dome.


I hear there are talks you and Mr. A-Dot are forming a group. Any truth to that?

Not really, We are looking into doing a dual album but thats it. I'll be a solo artist until I die. I gotta do my thang by my lonely.


Any upcoming tour dates or shows?

We'll I'm still working on a couple of things, but their not set in stone yet so I won't talk bout them just yet...but i'll keep u updated on myspace. com/EncoreEnt
