8/27/07: D-Nice back with another interview. A-Dot of Fort Worth, Texas hit me up and we talked about his new album dropping soon, the music scene in Fort Worth, his musical influences and much more so check it out.

D: Tell me how did you get your start in the game and your musical influences.

A: My cousin Jeremy Jimenez, first showed me Jay-Z's Life and Times of Shawn Carter Vol.2 (hard knock life,can I get a...,& money ain't a thing)Honestly I was hooked from the begining, and I always thought to myself...man! I can do this! Another artist I was really feeling at the time was DMX, to me he wasnt thuggish or gutta, to me, he was real.Thats what I like about hip-hop period. It's real.

D: How would you best describe your style on the mic?

A: Artist wise?

D: Yeah. 

A: Nobody, in my eyes im not into punch lines I might spit a few but im not "big" on it. I'm really into spittin non-stop, make you fell me, you know? So if anybody it's NAS, or ICE CUBE. I dont think I sound like them, but I think I'm with the same concept as far as spittin'.

D: Those are 2 or the best right there in my opinion. Your lyrics have alot of substance to it. Tracks like Dear Lord and My Sincerity have alot of emotion in them. Will more songs like this be on the album?

A: No. These tracks are real soulful, and I like that about them,but when I first introduce myself, I feel I shouldn't bring out my mom like I did on [sincerity]or talk about my friend passing like[dear lord] my next album will more and likely be similar to these tracks to kind of get my fan base more in my personal life. Even my next album title is to heart "From The Womb to The Tomb" It'll be more personal.

D: So tell me how the new album is coming along and when do you plan on releasing it?

A: Well, the album is coming along great. I'm excited with the new material and the guest appearences. I have my boy Mac-D who has been a real factor in my music growth, we record with the same producer so we see each other alot. Smoothvega a close friend of mine who really knows how to market his music, I  have other cats like Cynikal 3000,Lil' Tex,and even my producer Dayne.As far as the release date...any time within December/January that's a promise.

D: Ok, that's the bidness then. So what can the people expect once the album drops?

A: PROMOTION!![laughs] Definitely promotion,upcoming shows, I'll be at flea markets selling my product like crack!You have to do it man,you have to get out to the people and touch them, feel them, let them know who you are. Hopefully radio, that's my next goal.

D: You and Cynikal are definitely putting Fort Worth on the map with your music. Who are some other artists doing it big in Fort Worth?

A: Well Cynikal is doing it BIG. He's actually [in my eyes] one of the hottest artist out in texas period. Royal south, Rom/o No E, Immortal Soldierz, Souther Kappin' Soldiers, Mac-D, there is alot out here. But these guys are real talented and radio music is out here, street music is out here. Every city has they shine, I'm waiting on Fort Worth to drop so we can all do shows, mixtapes, tours, the whole thing...together.

D: What advice would you give up and coming artists out there just starting out?

A: Well I'm one of them! But, to tell you the truth stay with what you believe in. Hopefully YOU AND ME make it big.

D: Amen to that. What is bumping in your system right now?

A: Ummm,Gym Class Heroes, Bone Thugs and Harmony, Lil Wayne -Carter 2, got some old Jay-Z I'll put in every once in awhile. I got Cynikals' "Loose Cannon" in there.

D: Any upcoming shows or tour dates?

A: At the moment no, just trying to wrap up the album. But sooner or later I'm there.

D: Any last words or shoutouts?

A: Yeah."Ready For Testin'' coming soon.What up to my Uncle Emilio, 2-1 click, Dayne, Prezicion Records, and all my hip-hop friends. Shout out to my wife and two kids, just keep waiting girls, sooner or later we'll be where I promised.
