Mighty Misc releases “The Secret Lives of Hobbits” EP

A Lord of the Rings-themed rap fest

Never one to shy away from personal indulgences, Misc returns with a nerdy follow-up to his “Sci-Fi-Fo-Fum” EP after a particularly inspiring Lord of the Rings movie marathon. Instead of space hijinks, this project finds the Portland, OR emcee causing shenanigans in Middle Earth. He embraces his inner Hobbit, and at a whooping 5 feet and 5 inches, it is no surprise that opponents have tried to use that as an insult in rap battles.

Accompanied on the song “Shire Living” by Dick Dastardly (of Hanna Barbaric), Fattie Royale (who brings a Southern perspective to the nerd world) and Kordlyss (an emcee with a never-ending supply of obscure words to rhyme), you can count on hearing more songs from this group. “Strange Folks” is a stand-out track where producer Gus Woolery constructs a slow, dark, reggae beat for Misc to style on. Gus produced the entire project, and the two have a follow-up to their “Grown Ups” collaborative album dropping late summer/early fall.
