Check out I2G’s exclusive interview with producer Frost Gamble.

I2G is here with Frost Gamble, how’s it going?

Peace to Illuminati 2G and everyone checking this interview! I appreciate the opportunity to chop it up with you.

What are listeners in store for once your new project, Black Beach drops?

Hard beats mixed with melodies and conscious bars, with Zo narrating us through his perceptions of the Black experience in today’s society. These are serious issues that SHOULD be discussed through Hip Hop; too often the narratives are controlled by media who don’t have much of a stake in the outcomes.

Zo’s history in Detroit is deep, and it’s about time that the world gets to hear his talents. His ability to flip flows to fit the track is incredible, his voice & pen are always on point – I feel like we’ve made an album that you can groove to, but also build with – it’s a very deep project, conceptually, but rooted in head-nodding not preaching.

Do you have any upcoming videos?

Yes! We have a video for a bonus track called “Betta Axe Somebody” which will drop in a couple weeks. We’re also in the early stages of developing a video for a 2nd track, possibly “Drunk Roses”.

What other projects are you currently working on?

Tone Chop’s follow-up to the Veteran EP is about 80% done, and I have a compilation album in the works behind that. Plus, Zo and I started working on new projects as soon as Black Beach was completed – so, as long as people are willing to check out what we’re crafting, there will be a lot of new music on the way year after year.

What’s currently playing on your playlist?

I spend so much time in the studio, I often don’t even know what the big mainstream hits are – I only really make time for the artists that I know will deliver what I’m interested in – right now I’m listening to the new Boldy James, Young Bleed, La Coka Nostra, Milano Constantine and Roc Marciano projects – all crazy!

Do you have any upcoming shows or tour dates?

Zo is working out his tour plans for the summer festival season. I’ll be locked in the studio crafting beats J
