Check out i2G’s exclusive interview with JG.

I2G:
We’re here with JG, how’s it going man?

JG:
Its going good man, how you doing?

I2G:
Good, good. Lets get right into it. You just recently dropped your single and video for Bird in LA. Tell me a little bit about the video and the single, how it came together for you.

JG:
Basically, the video shot by Miles Cable. He’s a director out here from the Tampa Bay area that I know of and I’ve worked with him before on a record. He ended up moving out to LA. I did some work with Rich before and did some work with Jaden Smith and stuff. So whenever I had the record with Rich, I felt like he would be the first person to go to since I had already worked with him and stuff. Its and easy transition. As for the record, its just a dope record. I felt like I had an open verse on it. I was looking for who I felt would bring a good amount of attention to the record and Rich was one of the names that popped up between me and my single. We decided to roll with it, and I think it worked out.

I2G:
Absolutely. And its gonna be on your upcoming EP entitled Three Feet From Gold. Maybe for somebody that knew your music, is Birds From LA kind of the vibe with this EP. Maybe for somebody that’s new listening to the project, where they once check it out.

JG:
Its a good intro to me as an artist, if you’ve never heard my music before and now the first time you came across. Its barely touching the surface, but it gives you an idea, you can hear the melodic tone on it, on the chorus and stuff. On the first verse and the second verse are completely different in terms of style. I try to showcase all of that in one, show my versatility but in terms of what the project itself is gonna sound like, I wouldn’t say its the same. You’ll get more out of the project than you got out of Birds In LA. It was something to get it out there, really show people what I was about. That sound is not really like that the whole album. We got some uptempo stuff, there’s some melodic stuff, there’s some hiphop stuff. Its just a little bit of something for everybody, really.

I2G:
Do you have the release dates for the EP?

JG:
Not of the top of my head. Not right now.

I2G:
As far as any other visuals or singles, do you have any more upcoming videos from the EP or anything else your working on?

JG:
Yeah, I got about 4 or 5 records to release in the coming months, building up to it. I was starting with Birds In LA, I have another song on my side I released the same day as Birds In LA. I released the audio for it on my SoundCloud and then we were gonna put a video out after that here in the next couple of weeks. And then I got another video, that’s gonna be dropping another single or two. I got videos for all of those. So its just trying to fill that up. Get some attention whenever the release comes.

I2G:
Now as far as shows, do you have any upcoming shows or tour dates or anything coming up for you?

JG:
I’ve just been more in the creative process right now. I believe I may have show in LA sometime in March. Still working out the details on that. I’ve been more in the creative process, what I’m really focusing on. I haven’t really been focusing on any shows at this time.

I2G:
What’s your website information for people looking to check out your music see what you got going on?

JG:
The website is iamjgforreal.com. And then all of my socials are the same thing so its at iamjhforreal on Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, SoundCloud. All of that, its all the same.

I2G:
All right well, that’s all the questions I have for you. Appreciate you getting down for an interview. So any last words or shout outs you want to get out there to the people?

JG:
Nah man, thanks for having me. I just want to let my team Billy Jean, Greg, Ty, Nick, I want to thank all of them obviously, for making this happen. Thanks for having me man.
