Check out I2G’s exclusive interview with Fly Fierra.
I2G is here with Fly Fierra, how’s it going?
It’s going pretty good guy cant complain, how about you?
Great. Tell me a little bit about how you got your start in hip hop and who are some of your musical influences.
Well I first started recording heavily back in 2012 early 2013 just making and stacking huge amounts of material making my catalog as dense as i possible could preparing for the future. Building my fan base just solely off free releases because even back then I knew I didn’t want to just be an album artist even though I plan to release many off them independently and on a “major” scale.
As for my influences man you would have to count really everybody. Lol am aspired by anyone doing there thing but there’s only a handful of guys that i look up to or would want to work with because I don’t work with just anyone it has to mean somthing to me.
Do you have any upcoming mixtapes or albums getting ready to release?
Yeah too much if you ask me I got a plethora of mixtapes in the cut. About 15 mixtapes not counting the whole “Dedication To The Flyness” series that was leaked. Each with there very own unique theme and array of songs I still got to release on top of recording new content everyday.
Besides my solo material me and the homie Trademark Da Skydiver plan to drop an collaboration album ep Titled “Dragstars” this year. I’m basically already finished cooking up my half of the album ep, OG just waiting on me to hit that ignition button and we gone definitely come through with it and see what’s really up. Who knows if we successfully drop the project and you guys like it there could very well be an 2nd and 3rd installment.
Do you have any upcoming videos?
Yup I got a few in the cut as well those will be appearing throughout the upcoming mixtape series.
What are your current thoughts on the state of hip hop?
Lol its getting spooky my boy. I respect everyone’s craft and all but most of these kids are hiding behind producers which isn’t a bad thing but at least learn the fundamentals of how to phonetically structure a sentence to make it be pleasing to the ears and naturally sound good. Try to flex your rapping chops more. Its like trying to cover up crappy lyrics with sweet production it just don’t work haha…
We all can make “Hits” but can you move a crowd with just your rhymes, or survive going bar for bar in room filled with your most favorited Mc’s?
And lastly I think guys my age should start showing more respect and homage to our elders and the ones that came before us.
What is currently playing on your playlist musically?
Uhhh??? lets see right now besides myself Van Halen, Alice in Chains, mostly instrumentals and voice snippets of different audio bud.
Do you have any shows or tour dates?
Yeah man ain’t no telling where I’m at, I always get booked in weird states and places lol but I love everywhere I go and everyone that comes to jam with the Flying Cranes.
What is your website information?
