Check out our exclusive interview with El Dog. One half of the group Genacide, we discuss the new album, Ova Kill, coming projects and much more so check it out.

All right we’re here with El Dog, how’s it going man?

El Dog:
Hey man, slow motion here man. What ‘chu got going on illuminati?

Illuminati:
Oh same old, same old. Did a sit down and talk with you, we talked it out with Six Two so its good to have you on the site.

El Dog:
Yes, sir. Yeah man, we just trying to bring that real shit back in. Try to put these people on the right page and try to teach them the game and how everything is supposed to be going right now, illuminati. You know?

Illuminati:
Absolutely, absolutely. Alight we spoke with Six Two about the whole group Genocide, how’d you guys, there’s a big gap between the last album. What made you guys reunite and come back out with another project?

El Dog:
Well last time he was doing his thing, I was doing my thing and then you know he was just looking at how everybody was dropping mediocre or less than mediocre shit. We were just like man we need to, you know, tap back in and do a real, real motherfucking album so everybody can appreciate it and try to make these people stop doing the bullshit they’re doing basically, Illuminati.

Illuminati:
Now I know you guys just dropped the album. Do you guys have any plans for dropping any singles or videos or any additional singles or video for the project.

El Dog:
Yes sir, we did like a soft release. You know to get everybody familiar with the project and basically just give them a taste of what we got going on. And then we was gonna let the people pick the singles and everything. ”Cuz you know a lot of artists get caught up in the box. And don’t really realize that they doing this shit for the consumer you know what I’m saying? We trying to get people what they want and they can pick everything what they want versus being trapped inside of what the fuck we want ‘cuss what we want might not be what they want, you know what I’m saying?

Illuminati:
Right.

El Dog:
And then that shit is just a failed fucking mission. So we trying to basically we’re just trying to accomplish our mission of giving the people what they want to hear, you know what I’m saying?

Illuminati:
Ok.

El Dog:
So we’ve been really leaning towards this song called Life That I Live, MOE, and this song called That Thing on the overkill album so were just basically trying to see what the people want and then we gonna give it to them.

Illuminati:
Yeah MOE is my favorite track off the project so far.

El Dog:
Yeah, you liking it?

Illuminati:
Yeah, absolutely. All right any good memories or do you have a personal favorite track or maybe favorite moment creating the project with Six Two?

El Dog:
Yeah I like this song, the reach for the sky song. I like that song because it was hard because at the time I think the guy got killed in Louisiana. You know he was outside of the store and those police came and said that they dude in the store, they had got a phone call saying he had pulled a pistol on somebody and they came and they tied one out. This little female hanging with me, miss V, she was with me at the time and she was really wanting to act on this and me also and we got the singing guy in and he came in and we cooked up something and Duke came in and we all just basically meshed and we did a demo on the spot. I think that song was just really like the most memorable one and the most heartfelt because at the time we was really feeling it and going through how they you know, really hounding us and treating us in these days of society. Its pretty fucked up.

Illuminati:
Ok, right now that the project is out, are you currently working on a solo album? I did see recently Erotic D just dropped his 33 Agg project and you were all over that. So just what’s up next for you, as far as solo or another Genacide album? Just what’s up next for you?

El Dog:
Yeah we’re going to do a Genacide EP, we haven’t a title yet so its untitled. We got an EP. I’m really leaning towards doing the business side of it because my vision goes a bit deeper than just the music side of it. But I really want to lean towards that but we got a genocide EP and then we have some other artists who working on it. And then we really going to concentrate on six two ‘cuss you know, ‘cuss Six Two really want to take over the world and I want to hear him take over the world, you know?

Illuminati:
Absolutely, absolutely. Alight were now five months into 2017, just what’s your thoughts right now on the state of hip hop and maybe the music that’s come out this year? Or what you’re currently playing on your play list right now as far as hip hop?

El Dog:
Well, I’m really deep into Kendrick Lamar. You know that man is real deep. And you can appreciate, you know, his product. I’m really into people you can feel, you can touch, you can grab. And these other people, I just really don’t really feel them. Me and six two are like night and day. Six two is real laid back you know what I’m saying? Down to one really just don’t give a fuck. And I keep it realand a lot of these dudes are dropping a lot of bullshit.

And that’s why were coming back and I know it’s going to be a process because everybody is so caught up into the bullshit that’s out right now but if they let us in, like we need to get in, were gonna try to switch this shit up. The Kendrick Lamars, and the Snoops you know the O.G.’s of this shit? I mean, I’m gonna go my way and deal with our forefathers and shit but a lot of this shit that’s out right now, this shit is fucked up and you know Illuminati, you know, a lot of this shit is fucked up. You know you gotta fair comparison and no lines but I don’t give a fuck. A lot of this shit is don’t need to be asked you know what I’m saying?

Illuminati:
Yeah, absolutely

El Dog:
Nah, for real, cats they need to master their craft like they need to master their craft and do a lot more homework and be a lot more respectful about the shit that they drop. And you know we can make this shit work like the way its supposed to work ‘cuss I feel like they’re trying to destroy the art of this shit with the shit they put down. The masses I mean, know what I’m saying?

Illuminati:
Yes absolutely, absolutely. All right as far as the tour dates, do you and six two have any upcoming shows or tour dates you want to let people know about?

El Dog:
Yes sir, so this summer, that’s why we did our soft release, we about to go mainstream with it and we’re gonna do a lot of towns throughout Texas, we’re gonna hit Atlanta, we’re gonna hit Louisiana, were gonna try to hit Arkansas, Oklahoma, and if you embrace us we gonna come hang out with you Illuminati, know what I’m saying?

Illuminati:
Absolutely, we’ll definitely have you out here in Vegas. That would be a hell of a show.

El Dog:
Yes sir

Illuminati:
All right, well that’s all the questions I have for you. I appreciate you getting gown for the interview. Any last words or shout outs want to get out there to the people?

El Dog:
Nah I just want to give a shout out to my artist Casper, and my artist Liz B a shout out to my brother Six Two, and we gonna keep it pushing and before long we gonna try to be taking over the world like Pinky and the Brain.
