Check out our exclusive interview with Patrick Phanor.
I2G is here with Patrick Phanor, how’s it going?
*Things are well. Feeling blessed for sure.
Tell me a little bit about how you got your start in music and who are some of your musical influences.
*I recall writing my first rhyme around the age of 15. Just out of curiosity. To see what I could come up with. And since then I just stuck with it. As far as musical influences, early on I was into Notorious BIG, Jay-Z, Outkast, DMX, Nas, Master P, Mystikal, etc.
Do you have any upcoming albums getting ready to release?
*Currently I’m just creating new material and experimenting. I recently released my full length album titled “Sorry, No Apologies…” which is available on all major streaming platforms.
Do you have any more upcoming videos?
Yes. I definitely have more visuals on the way. I just released the video to my song Death Row, which is a record off the album. It’s available on YouTube now.
What are your current thoughts on the music industry?
From a business perspective I feel we are in a much better place because of the technological opportunities presented such as access to major streaming services, social media, etc. We now have the ability to be in control of how our music is created and released. There are alot of great artists out there making incredible music and creating a lane for themselves as well.
What is currently playing on your playlist musically?
At the moment I’ve been listening to alot of 90’s RnB records, and Outkast, mainly their Aquemini, and Stankonia albums. Outkast was way ahead of their time. Pure Genius.
Do you have any shows or tour dates?
*Yes. I’ll be in Canada early August for a show in Toronto. Also, putting together a live show for the fall.
What is your website information?
*My website is www.patrickphanor.com. All my social media platforms are @PatrickPhanor.
Appreciate the interview, any last words or shout outs?
*I really appreciate you guys for taking the time to interview me. To everyone that has shared my music, listened to it, purchased the album, come to a show, I want to thank you. I couldn’t do it without your love and support. Trust me. To whoever is on the journey of turning your dreams into a reality, please have 1000% belief in yourself, always be open to learning, be patient, and be consistent. Most importantly, put the most high first. Peace!
