Check out I2G’s exclusive interview with DOA Ron G.

Demarcus:
All right, we’re here with DOA Ron G. How’s it going, man?

Ron G:
Everything good, man. How’s it going? I’m cool.

Demarcus:
Good, good. Let’s get right into it. You just recently dropped your artwork for your upcoming album entitled “Black Noise.” Maybe for people that are new to your music, what are listeners in store for once they check out the project?

Ron G:
Everybody is in store for a rollercoaster ride really. One thing about me as an artist, I have this element of ratchetness and righteousness at the same time and you’re going to get every element of that from me throughout this whole project. You know what I’m saying. It tells this story from front to back.

Demarcus:
Do you have a release date set for the album?

Ron G:
Yeah, release date is actually tomorrow. September 29th it will drop. Midnight, I believe, so that’s in the next coming hours. It’s going up tomorrow.

Demarcus:
As far as any additional videos or singles, just what’s up next that’s going to drop from the album?

Ron G:
What’s going to drop from the album is actually the intro. The intro video should be coming up in the next couple of weeks. I haven’t set a date yet, but definitely the next couple of weeks we’ll drop the first video to the album and it’s going to be the intro and we following up with way more.

We’re doing a video for each song on the project, so it’s definitely going to be a story told through the visuals as well as the music, kind of give you a full experience of everything.

Demarcus:
Okay, absolutely. All right, we’re now 9 months into 2017. What’s your thoughts right now on the state of Hip Hop in 2017 and maybe some albums or artists that you’ve been feeling that have dropped projects this year?

Ron G:
The state of Hip Hop has been great this year, man. We had a lot of dope albums come out this year, to your Kendricks, to your Rick Rosses, your G Herbos, Rapsody … You know what, speaking of Rapsody, I think women are dominating Hip Hop this year, for real. You know what I mean? The women are really stepping up and creating dope music and bringing an energy that we haven’t felt in a while from the female side of things.

Rap is definitely … Hip Hop period. The culture is in a good place right now, man. I think when you get so many different creatives all in one space and everything feel like it’s just popping, I think that’s gold for everybody involved in the Hip Hip culture and it’s good from a competitive standpoint as well because just making their fellow artists step their game up, you know what I’m saying, and come with your best shot.

Demarcus:
All right, do you have any upcoming shows or tour dates coming up for you that you want to let the people know about?

Ron G:
Yeah, we’re working on finalizing a show for this next month. I haven’t got that date settled in either because I’ve been doing so much with this album and just trying to get that ready and prepared for release. I haven’t really had time to sit down and do other things, but yeah, these next few weeks as well working on locking in a show and we’re going to actually have a show for the album and I’m also doing a show here in St. Louis, November 10th, down at the Blank Space. I’m not really sure of the title of this show, but I know that is the date that I’m performing and people will be able to get to see some Black Noise stuff go on, you know what I’m saying.

Demarcus:
Okay. All right, what’s your website information for people looking to check out your music and see what you got going on?

Ron G:
My main website is under construction right now, so I won’t give that out yet, but you can find a lot of my stuff in my social media and I have links and my Instagram is @DOARonG. My Twitter is DOA_RonG and you can also Google at “DOARonG” and everything related to me will pop up now. I’m becoming universal now, so it’s a good thing.

Demarcus:
All right, that’s all the questions I have for you. Appreciate you getting down for an interview. Definitely looking forward to the album dropping tomorrow. Is there any last words or shout outs you want to get out to the people?

Ron G:
No, just shout out everybody who supports me. Shout out Little Monte, DOA. Shout out everybody who was relative to this movement and shout out to you also for giving me this opportunity. I appreciate it.
