Check out I2G’s exclusive interview with Hex One.
Tell me a little bit about how you got your start in hip hop and who are some of your musical influences.
My main influences in hip hop growing up were queens artists. Dudes like Nas, CNN etc. I moved to queens from Colombia at 6 years old and being around that environment I naturally picked up on rhyming and started writing. It was also the Napster era so I was downloading all kinds of instrumentals and just trying to make my own signs to them. Some dudes on my block would kick rhymes and people loved hearing it that was a big inspiration as well. I wanted that type of attention.
Do you have any upcoming mixtapes or albums getting ready to release?
I have my first official solo album titled “Words Worth a Thousand Pictures” releasing
Do you have any upcoming videos?
I have 3 videos out now from the album including one featuring Skyzoo titled “Peep the Steeze”:
What are your current thoughts on the state of hip hop?
The state of hip hop is pretty sad. Hip hop heads have been saying this for years but it’s progressively getting worse. I personally never listen to the radio and even in the underground and so called “real hip hop” circles I rarely find anything worth investing listens into.
What is currently playing on your playlist musically?
Right now I’m enjoy the album “Passage Through Time” by Da Grassroots
Do you have any shows or tour dates?
I have 2 dates in Colombia. in Medellin and the 25th in Bogota. I’m also planning a Europe tour in the month of Feb.
Appreciate the interview, any last words or shout outs?
